 The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the  British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI) and the  Korean Friendship Association of UK( KFA UK) )today issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the  92 anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army(KPRA) the forerunner of the modern Korean People's Army on the 25th of April.
   On the 25th of April it will be 92 years since the Korean People's Army was originally founded as a revolutionary guerrilla force, the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army later known as the Korean People's Revolutionary Army. We Juche Idea and Songun idea followers and militant friends of People's Korea salute the anniversary of its foundation. Today the KPA is defending the independence of the DPRK and also peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region.
                               
                                          

   The foundation of the Anti-Japanese Peoples Guerrilla Army, in 1932, by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung, a gifted military strategist and ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander, constitutes the bedrock of the Songun revolution.
   The Korean People’s Army, under the wise leadership of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, took over and carried forward the traditions of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. It is based solidly on revolutionary comradeship. Moreover, a tradition of army-people unity was created and today flourishes in Juche Korea.                       
                                                 

Under the wise leadership of the great generalissimo Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the KPA grew into steel strong ranks each soldier being a match for a hundred enemy soldiers. The KPA inflicted a crushing defeat on the US imperialists in the great Fatherland Liberation War of 1950-1953. The KPA also defeated the US in the ‘Pueblo incident’,' The EC121 incident’, ‘The Panmunjom incident’ of 1976 and the 1994 helicopter shootdown incident.
                                                                   
  The KPA became a truly Juche- orientated revolutionary armed force and is the army of the party,the working class and the leader. New theories of warfare have been created.'Moreover, under the leadership of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung,the KPA stuck to class and revolutionary principles, the revisionist and opportunist "non-class" theories were soundly smashed, The leadership of the party over the armed forces was maintained and enhanced, unlike some countries where socialism was frustrated.The KPA is truly an anti-imperialist, anti-revisionist army which defends socialism with the force of arms.
   The might of the KPA was further strengthened under the leadership of supreme commander Kim Jong Il, who practised Songun politics giving priority to the KPA regarding it as the central pillar of the revolution. KPA under the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader the KPA grew stronger in terms of ideology and politics but also materially. It is now equipped with the latest weaponry and has its own independent deterrent force. The KPA under the command of the Songun supreme commander Kim Jong Il and respected general Kim Jong Un smashed the provocations of the south Korean puppets in November 2010 turning Yongphyong island into a sea of flames.
 Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un  has implemented the great revolutionary line of building the economy and nuclear force in parallel thereby strengthening the nuclear deterrent force of the KPA
exponentially so that the DPRK became a strategic state.                                                                                                                                   
                                       

The KPA which holds tight the arms of Songun has been ever-victorious over a period of eight decades. The KPA, the vanguard force of the Songun revolution, has defeated the imperialists many times, and under the leadership of supreme commander Kim Jong Un will defeat them again.
                                                                                                
   Today the destiny of world socialism and peace depends on the rifles of the Korean People's Army headed by respected supreme commander Marshal Kim Jong Un. The DPRK is on the frontline of the struggle between socialism and imperialism. It stands guard over the independence of the DPRK and the people-centred socialism, authentic socialism.  Under the command of respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, the Korean People's Army has been further strengthened as the mighty and invincible revolutionary armed force of Juche. We are convinced of the final victory of the KPA led by respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

DPRK Foreign Ministry Official Issues Press Statement

Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- The chief of the Foreign News Section of the Department of Press and Information of the DPRK Foreign Ministry issued the following press statement on Wednesday:

A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State on April 22 talked about international counteraction, terming the DPRK's military drills for self-defence a "violation of the resolution" of the UN Security Council and "threats".

We express strong discontent with the remarks made by the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State and strongly urge the U.S. to be prudent in its words and deeds and stop going farther along the wrong and dangerous road.

The war drills frequently staged by the U.S. and the ROK under the unreasonable and impudent pretext to steadily deteriorate the security environment of the DPRK and the situation of the surrounding region can never be overlooked, and they constitute a serious threat to be contained with a strong hand.

The combined tactical drill simulating a nuclear counterattack conducted by the DPRK's armed forces is a legitimate exercise of the right to self-defence to deter the outbreak of a war as it sent a clear warning to the U.S. and the ROK unilaterally escalating the military tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

It is essential to take serious note of the negative impact of the on-going U.S.-ROK joint military drills on the regional situation and clearly discern who seeks confrontation and aggravates the situation.

There is a reason why the situation on the Korean Peninsula has reached the present phase.

We resolutely oppose the U.S. behavior of forming exclusive military blocs and pursuing inter-camp confrontation to violate strategic security of other countries, seized by the Cold War way of thinking.

The irresponsible and worrisome muscle-flexing of the U.S. and the ROK pushing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to an unpredictable phase should be stopped at once.

The DPRK will never overlook such habitual abnormal behavior as terming its bolstering of the capabilities for legitimate self-defence, which is indispensable for defending itself, illegal. And it will firmly defend its sovereign rights and legitimate interests with stronger and more evident actions.

The DPRK will never cave in to the U.S. threat and pressure.

The international community should grasp what complicates the Korean peninsula issue and send a clear signal to the U.S. and the ROK, the root cause of ever-escalating regional antagonism and contradiction, to stop at once their provocative confrontational moves. -0-

Press Statement of Vice Department Director of C.C., WPK Kim Yo Jong

Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), issued the following statement "Evil doer's audacity can never work on us" on Wednesday:

The regional situation has been plunged deeper into a dangerous vortex due to the U.S.-led hostile forces' ceaseless military moves.

The U.S., as ever, doesn't miss the chance for making stereotyped far-fetched assertion with evil doer's audacity terming our activities pertaining to our right to self-defence a "violation of UNSC resolution" and a "grave threat to regional and international peace and security".

The world should understand the issue correctly.

The U.S., together with Japan and the ROK puppets, are ceaselessly staging military exercises under various codenames against the DPRK almost every week. Witnessing such muscle-flexing alone, one can easily understand the reason why tensions are soaring in the region like a kindled detonating fuse.

The U.S., which kicked off its madcap war drumbeats in the new year through a "joint combat firing drill" with the gangsters of the ROK puppet army on Jan. 4, has frantically staged war drills under various codenames such as "drill of neutralizing CBR weapons storage facilities", "allied cyber training" and "joint special operation drill".

From January 15 the U.S., together with Japan and the ROK puppets, conducted a "joint maritime drill" with the involvement of its nuclear carrier Carl Vinson for four days in the waters off Jeju Island.

On the first day of the drill, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff of the ROK puppet army appeared on the nuclear carrier to make a false show of power, saying "ROK-U.S.-Japan maritime drills have made a core contribution to deterring and coping with the ever-escalating nuclear and missile threats from the north."

In February the U.S., together with the gangsters of the ROK puppet army, were hell-bent on such drills as "joint marine corps drill", "winter joint drill", "joint air drill" and "commanding communication drill". Not content with this, it staged 48 rounds of extremely offensive and provocative war exercises day and night in March, including "joint air strike drill", "joint tactical live-firing drill", "joint drill for air-to-air firing and air-to-ground bombing", "Ssangmae joint air drill" and various outdoor mobile drills, under the signboard of Freedom Shield, the large-scale joint military exercise.

In April, too, the U.S., Japan and ROK puppets have ceaselessly staged reckless military drills with the involvement of U.S. nuclear strategic assets.

On April 2, a tripartite air drill involving U.S. nuclear strategic bomber B-52H was staged. A few days later, a naval drill was kicked off with the U.S. nuclear carrier Theodore Roosevelt involved.

A "joint airborne infiltration drill" was staged on April 18. Furthermore, a "combined joint formation drill," which was launched on April 12 with more than 100 warplanes involved, will last till April 26.

In August last year, the summit meeting of the U.S., Japan and the puppet ROK, held at Camp David in a suburb of Washington, specified, planned and formulated all these nuclear war provocation against the DPRK and decided to stage tripartite military drills annually, and all the above-said drills that have been accordingly staged are "rehearsals" designed to put the U.S. nuclear war scenario against the DPRK into practice.

Entering this year, the U.S. has staged more than 80 rounds of military drills with its lackeys and those individually staged by the ROK puppets total more than 60. This evidently shows who the arch criminals straining the regional situation are.

Nonetheless, the U.S. and its stooges are behaving like a guilty party filing the suit first.

Who are the real criminals disturbing peace and stability?

We will continue to build up our overwhelming and most powerful military muscle to defend our sovereignty and security and regional peace.

No one can break our determination.

If the U.S. persists in its moves to threaten the security of the DPRK, boasting of its strength by rallying its stooges, the security of the U.S. and its allies will be exposed to greater danger.

The U.S. should stop fostering the reckless bravery of its top-class minion ROK.

Of course, a scared dog barks louder, but the bosses of the ROK puppet military gangsters have gone too far in their barks recently.

If they attempt at armed counteraction against the DPRK counting on their master, they will be immediately annihilated. -0-

U.S. Military Aid to Ukraine Is Just Mind-bending Drug: Vice Foreign Minister of DPRK

Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Im Chon Il, vice foreign minister of the DPRK in charge of Russian affairs, released the following press statement on Wednesday.

The U.S. House of Representatives reportedly passed a bill on offering additional military aids to Ukraine recently.

So it can be said that the U.S. large-scale additional military aid package to Ukraine debated long in the U.S. political camp has actually become a matter of time.

Media of the U.S. and other Western countries are widely advertising that Washington's such decision will add fresh strength to Ukraine's fight against Russia's "invasion."

The recent bipartisan support for the passage of the military aid bill for Ukraine through the U.S. House of Representatives clearly proved once again that the U.S. remains unchanged in its ulterior purpose to inflict a strategic defeat upon Russia at any cost by continuously egging Ukraine on despite the latter's serious defeats on battlefield.

Great Irony is the fact that more than one third of the U.S. aid fund amounting to over 60 billion US dollars will be spent in the U.S. mainland for supplying new weapons and ammunitions to the U.S. forces.

Thus it has been fully revealed once again that lurking behind the "rescuing hands" given by the U.S. touting military assistance to Ukraine is the sly and sinister intention of the U.S. to use the Ukrainian crisis as an opportunity for fattening up its munitions monopolies and for further tightening the shackle it put on Ukraine to make the puppet Zelenskiy clique henchmen for paving the path for carrying out its strategy for deterring Russia.

It is by no mean fortuitous that experts comment that the U.S. benefits most from the Ukraine crisis and the Biden administration is making enormous profits while feasting on "blood-mixed wine."

Russian political figures, being fully confident of victory, ridicule the passage of the new military aid bill as the one for making the U.S. richer but reducing Ukraine to greater piles of ashes, saying although the U.S. lavishes tens of billions of dollars on security assistance to Kiev, satisfying the wild greed of munitions tycoons, Russia will surely emerge victorious.

The U.S. transfuses blood to the Zelenskiy regime to prolong its existence at stake but this can never change the dreadful fate awaiting the puppets on deathbed.

The Ukrainian battlefields have long been a "graveyard" of various weaponry bragged about by the U.S. and the NATO.

But Zelenskiy has gone so mad as to express his will to continue the "death-defying resistance" against Russia to the end, making deep bows to his American masters for the decision of new military aid. This cannot but be viewed as sheer hysteria of a "Don Quixote in the 21st century" utterly ignorant of his opponent.

Zelenskiy must be a "star" acting his part well according to the film script written by the U.S., rather than president of a country.

I affirm that the U.S. legislative military aid package is just a mind-bending drug for buoying up for a moment the Zelenskiy clique gripped with fear resulting from its ever-worsening position on battlefield and making it tilt at windmills.

The pro-U.S. lackeys are bound to meet death and ruin for having completely sold off people and all valuables of the country to become cannon fodder of their master, unable to judge what is right and what is wrong.

Any U.S. military aids can never block the advance of the heroic Russian army and people all out for a sacred war of justice for safeguarding the sovereign rights and security of their country. -0-

Regional-Industry Factories in Kimhwa County

 After building new regional-industry factories in Kimhwa Count, Kangwon Province, in 2022, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is now powerfully pushing forward with the effort to develop regional industry. 

The factories in Kimhwa County have clearly proved the possibility of regional industry development as well as their effectiveness and profitability through their operation. 

What is worthy of note here is their rapid production growth.

In a matter of only two years after their completion, they increased their industrial output value by more than two times and the number of varieties of their products to 125 of 46 kinds.

The foodstuff factory increased the production to 50-odd varieties of more than ten kinds, and the garment factory increased the production by more than 1.2 times as compared with the previous year. Meanwhile, the paper mill overfulfilled its annual production plan at 114 percent and the daily necessities factory raised its production capacity by installing a new oil refining line and reinforcing the plastic pipe production line. 

Another thing worthy of note is the improved quality of their products.

All their products are of so high quality that many people ask if they are really products of regional-industry factories. In addition, they are much welcome not only in the county itself but also in its neighbouring counties and other provinces, and are highly rated at national exhibitions. 

This fans the competitive spirit among the producers, leading to further improvement of the standard of material and cultural life of the local people. 

What is more important is the fact that all the factories are operated with locally available raw materials. Most of the foodstuffs and various kinds of light industrial goods like peppered bean paste with sesame, magnoliavine fruit juice and fruit jam of Actinidia arguta which are widely known as the specialities of the county are produced with raw materials available in the county.   

To develop the production in a sustainable and stable manner, the people of the county have expanded the area of raw materials production bases more than 2.5 times and created hundreds of hectares of Korean evodia forests and a hundred hectares of woods for paper production.

In a nutshell, the regional-industry factories in Kimhwa County have developed into those relying on locally-available raw materials and the county into a developed one that retains its own inherent characteristics.

Having put forward the Regional Development 20×10 Policy which aims to build regional-industry factories, which will be as modern as those in Kimhwa County, in 20 counties every year and thereby in all cities and counties in ten years to come, the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK are forcefully pushing ahead with the work to implement it. A special emphasis in this work is put on creating more innovative things, instead of mechanically following and copying the experience gained in the county.

While giving field guidance at the regional-industry factories in Kimhwa County on February 7 this year, Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, clarified important principles to be maintained and tasks to be done in improving the architectural styles and the level of modernization of the regional-industry factories to be built and ardently called for bringing about a great change in the regional development without fail.

                                             

                                            

DPRK’s Economy Viewed from New Regional Development Policy

The Regional Development 20×10 Policy recently advanced by General Secretary Kim Jong Un of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea is drawing attention of many people around the world.

According to the policy, the Workers’ Party of Korea takes charge of building modern regional-industry factories in 20 counties every year as an unerring policy-oriented task and carries it out successfully so as to raise the basic material and cultural living standards of the people to a higher level in all cities and counties, more specifically in all parts of the country, in the coming decade.

The DPRK has already built modern regional-industry factories in Kimhwa County. It is said that the level of modernization of the foodstuff, clothing and daily necessities factories and a paper mill built in Kimhwa County is very high. They are fed with locally-available raw and other materials. And they are producing more than enough products to satisfy the county’s demand, and the surplus is supplied to the neighbouring counties and even the provincial seat.

When he gave field guidance at the regional-industry factories in Kimhwa County, Kim Jong Un stressed once again the decision on setting the architectural styles and the level of modernization of the regional-industry factories to be built from this year higher than those in Kimhwa County. The Regional Development 20×10 Policy, which has begun to be put in force in real earnest, helps to guess the direction of development of the country.

Firstly, the line of self-reliance and self-development followed by the DPRK is immutable.

An important issue in implementing the policy is the one of upgrading the level of modernization of production lines and supplying raw and other materials for normal operation. And the country tries to solve these problems by its own efforts. As it was done in Kimhwa County, scientists and technicians at the scientific and educational institutes across the country are playing a key role in the setting up of production lines. And at the same time, the work of building raw material bases to suit the geographical features of each county is now under progress. This is eloquent proof of the will of the WPK and DPRK government to build the regional economy as well as the central economy into an independent one which entirely relies on its own technology and locally-available raw materials, so as to improve stably the people’s living standard, unperturbed by the worldwide economic confusion.

Secondly, the country is paying its primary attention to bettering the people’s livelihood regarding the economic development.

There are a number of problems requiring an immediate solution for the Korean economy which has been put on a steady upward track. Here goes an example. The country set the goal of modernizing the Ryongsong Machine Complex, the leading machine producer, within two years and of making other large-scale machine-building factories in the country follow suit so as to put them all on a modern basis. It would cost a huge sum of money. However, the country has put forward the policy of developing regional industry for the betterment of the people’s material and cultural living standards, and set the project in motion by mobilizing a large amount of materials, funds and technical forces.

Thirdly, the country plans to bring about a complete change in the overall economy of the country in a very short span of time and promote its multilateral growth.

The DPRK intends not to boost the economy sector by sector, but to develop all the sectors including heavy and light industries, regional industry and agriculture simultaneously. In fact, all sectors of the national economy such as metallurgical and chemical industries are pursuing modernization and sustainable development. With the advancement and execution of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy, the country is now in a position to promote the development of each regional economy in a unique way, expand the scope of investment in it and create a climate of competing with one another, thus giving impetus to diversified growth. The day is not far off when the nation will achieve the brilliant success of simultaneous, balanced and rapid development across the country.

Kim Jong Un and the Regional Development 20×10 Policy

Implementation of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy put forth by        Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, is now going full steam ahead.

Kim Jong Un put forward the construction of modern regional-industry factories in 20 counties every year in the coming ten years from this year as the Regional Development 20×10 Policy for the Workers’ Party of Korea to hold on to, and, for its flawless implementation, he visited regional-industry factories in Kimhwa County in early February this year.

He stressed that the regional-industry factories to be built should be higher in the level of modernization and better in architectural style than those in Kimhwa County. 

Late in February he attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of regional-industry factories in Songchon County, delivered a speech and took up the first spadeful of earth in commemoration of the groundbreaking.

When this policy is implemented, new improvements will reportedly be effected in the material and cultural living standards of the people across the country.

Analysts comment that the policy shows the personality of Kim Jong Un and his outstanding qualifications as state leader.

First, Kim Jong Un is very audacious and proactive in his work style.

To renovate the regional-industry factories in 20 counties every year by the country’s own efforts and technology and thus remodel all those across the country within the coming ten years is a grand plan that cannot be decided in a conventional way.

Even the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK held to discuss the plan for this year proposed building regional-industry factories in only a few cities and counties with favourable conditions and stepping up preparations for the future construction in the remaining cities and counties.

However, Kim Jong Un set forth the Regional Development 20×10 Policy so as to bring about a marked change in the people’s living in a short period.

Quite impressive are his words at the 19th Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK–Being passive is not something that goes well with our physical constitution.

It is also noteworthy that he is very scientific and far-sighted in mapping out policies and implementing them.

Already at the first short course for chief secretaries of the city and county Party committees in March 2021, he gave directions for opening up a new era of regional development.

The directions meant that the regional-industry factories in Kimhwa County should be built modernly on a trial basis, gain experience by putting their operation on a regular basis in keeping with the specific conditions of the county to weigh their effectiveness, profitability and possibility, and, on this basis, new modern regional-industry factories should be built in all cities and counties across the country in the future.

Though the economic situation of the country was difficult three years ago, he already looked into the definite growth of the economy and its consolidated foundations of today.

With such far-sighted intelligence and scientific and detailed preparations, the Regional Development 20×10 Policy was advanced and is under implementation.

It is also a unanimous comment of the analysts that Kim Jong Un is possessed of unexcelled organizing and enterprising abilities.

He ensured that the order of counties was properly defined on a planned, concentrated and future-oriented basis, given that regional-industry factories were to be built in two counties of each province every year. He also took concrete measures to set the production indices in conformity with the economic potentialities, specialties, regional sizes and populations of the relevant cities and counties, to train technicians and skilled workers necessary for the operation of factories in a far-sighted way, organize construction workforce and set up a well-regulated work system.

He saw to it that the strong force of the Korean People’s Army undertook the construction projects and personally handed over the colours to the army units, encouraging them to push ahead with the projects in a three-dimensional way and on a full scale.

The non-permanent central committee for promoting the Regional Development 20×10 Policy was organized and commenced its work, and preparations to build the raw material bases in cities and counties are in progress.
